I just bought a motorhome this past week. What is an envirnmentalist like me doing with an RV? the 4500 USD i spent on it is my real estate investment as a place to live. A toyota Motorhome with a 2 liter 4 Cylinder motor gets better mileage than the big motorhomes you see out there, or all those inexpensive to buy but gas guzzling 8 cylinder camper vans on the market. Now with a remodel and some mechanical work, I will have a living space with full bathroom, kitchen, hot water, heat and all the comforts of home, no mater where I am. beats the 450000+ pricetag of the cheapest house in Seatte!!

I'm down in Peru for a few more daze, and then I head off towards Short Mountain for the gathering. The thing is, I have a long layover in Miami and don't know what to do. I will have 8 and a half hours to kill on the 28th of April. Does anybody know if I can just easily catch a bus and go to a beach or somewhere that would be fun to wander around? Or maybe some faerie lives there and feels like driving me around and showing me the sites? Any help at all would sure be appreciated.

I am ready to buy myself a spiffy little motorhome, stash some cash in the bank and make plans to re-locate to a more humane way of life in the next year or so. I also read your post on your dream of a place where lovers, healers, and other kind sorts would meet to live and love. It got me to thinking. I too have dreamed of such a place. Why does it have to be just a dream? Any other folks tiring of the rat race and unabandoned consumerism and ready to live a simplier life? I'd like to hear other's experiences and thoughts.

I was complaining to my boyfriend... "A cool idea for a tribe... but no one actually posts anything... boooring." I was admittedly shocked when he suggested I take part of the responsibility for the lack of activity, what with me being a member and all!!
I don't suppose I've actually ever introduced myself properly. Hello, Queer Nomads - I'm Jason, and I'm also a Queer Nomad!
Right now, we're hanging out in northern Wisconsin gathering the fruits of our (though mostly the bf's!) labor in the garden. Tomatoes, tomatoes, tomatoes! Salsa, pizza, spaghetti, tomato pie, frozen, canned, dehydrated... We're running out of ideas, but the tomatoes keep coming! This year we grew yellow ones, white ones, purple ones, green ones, orange ones, and, of course, several type of red ones!
We're working on efficient ways to preserve the goodies from the garden so as not to spend as much money on feeding ourselves when we're away. But living in a truck means space and weight considerations... Constant challenges, the both of 'em!
We're next out to the D.C. area to visit with friends and work some, too. We'll be there until the middle of November or so - until we decide how we want to end up in Chicago to sell Christmas trees!
Where is everyone else? Y'all ever thought about a 'gathering' or something? Holla!
