Sierra, I read of your new home purchase and am jealous to hell. I have finally made a decision to change my lifestyle also. I am ready to buy myself a spiffy little motorhome, stash some cash in the bank and make plans to re-locate to a more humane way of life in the next year or so. I also read your post on your dream of a place where lovers, healers, and other kind sorts would meet to live and love. It got me to thinking. I too have dreamed of such a place. Why does it have to be just a dream? Any other folks tiring of the rat race and unabandoned consumerism and ready to live a simplier life? I'd like to hear other's experiences and thoughts.

Re: Nomadic tendencies
Wed, September 20, 2006 - 3:32 PMYes, i'm trying and i find this way easy. I think that initially it's not so difficult for everyone to quit consumerism, avoiding to buy single use stuffs, repairing and reutilizing broken clothes, shoes and every kind of home stuff. I think that this is the key: repair instead of trashing and use the more natural materials you can.
Indeed nowadays it's getting harder to repair things beacuse everything is made to not be repaired. but i think that our way will be the winning one...
